It is amazing how many back care products there are online. I went looking for lumbar supports the other day in town and found virtually nothing of consequence, then I ran one web search at home and was blown away by what I found. There are more than just lumbar rolls and the like. Seat wedges of various angles, ergonomic footrests and even headrest attachments were available. There were also ergonomic electronics accessories like keyboards and mice which were interesting, although I don’t think I could get used to one of those funny looking keyboards, no matter how long I practiced.

New TV stands have become more and more common purchases, as the cost of new TVs have gone up. Years ago people would just set their television on any old extra table or chest laying around and that was practical with CRT low definition TVs because most of them weren’t very large in screen size. But with today’s massive TVs usually in excess of 30 inches in screen size and costing a few hundred pounds or more, no one can afford to take a chance on their high tech entertainment center toppling over onto the floor because they were too cheap to buy a matching TV stand. I was checking out the latest TVs the other day and noticed that there are still quite a few plasma models available. I hadn’t looked at new sets in a while and figured LCD and the new LED TVs would have caused a phasing out of plasma models, but they are still numerous. I guess it makes sense, since the technology is now well over a decade old and affordable to mass produce. Of course plasma models are pretty darn heavy and I noticed that there were quite a few new plasma TV stands available too, as most people probably don’t have an old stand strong enough to support the weight. I considered looking into monitor arms for a wall mounting, but I would have to opt for a very small screen for an arm to be able to support the weight. I’m going to go with a floor stand though, because I just wouldn’t be willing to take a chance on a brand new TV tumbling to the ground to its destruction.

There are so many types of televisions these days that I find it hard to decide which to choose as a replacement for my old set. The new LED TVs are gorgeous and the now old technology of plasma still offers superior screen blackness and refresh rates than most sets, but I will probably opt for an LCD TV for budget reasons. Of course even when I get through with that decision I’ll be spending another huge block of time looking over LCD TV stands capable of holding my new set. I wouldn’t want to spend hundreds on a shiny new TV only to have it crash to the ground because of my flimsy old TV stand. In a similar issue, I have been looking at new PCs and I’m thinking about checking out CPU holders for them, as my old desk just doesn’t have room for a massive new computer tower.

It isn’t that difficult to pick out a new HD television these days, even with the enormous amount of choices in screen size, plasma, LCD, LED and even 3D TVs. All you have to do is look at your budget and balance the qualities of screen size and picture quality and you’re done. But how do you choose a stand to put your new prized piece of technology on? If you have a TV of tremendous weight, then a wooden stand would be the way to go, but most new TVs are light for their screen size because they are so thin. For lighter sets glass TV stands are perfect with there modern flair to match the TV and the ease of cleaning is a nice bonus.

Chances are if you have been looking at one of those massive new high definition TVs for your home, you have been thinking to yourself “there is no way I’m putting a TV that expensive on top of my crappy old stand.” Of course you wouldn’t want to do that. Sure there is the issue of a snazzy new TV looking odd on a scruffy old piece of furniture, but the real issue is that of safety for an expensive piece of electronics if you put a large heavy TV on top of an old flimsy stand. With that in mind, it is best to do a little searching online for quality wooden TV stands. These are available in many finishes and sizes to fit any of the newer styles of televisions.
